Hide details

Valley Hide – 11 photographic windows.

Reflection Pool Hide – 1 photographic window.

Waterfall and Woodpecker Hide – 3 photographic windows.

Rock Hide – 1 photographic window.

Photographing through glass.

The hide uses high-quality one-way glass, This allows you to freely move the lens, allowing you to take photos of flights and action without scaring away the animals. Above all, they allow birds and other animals to have a sense of security.

All one-way glass, even the highest quality, will give a warm component that must be corrected in the image processing through colour temperature, or you can adjust the colour through your camera settings in the White Balance Shift and Bracketing feature. You may also find that you lose around 1.3 stops of light.

On the days when I photographed in the hide, both on bright sunny days and days when it rained, all my images we more than acceptable and sharp enough. What you have to remember is that you are being given an opportunity to photograph wildlife without disturbance and the opportunity to photograph species that you may not be able to photograph comfortably out in the wild in a make-shift hide or on foot, and when it is wet, wild and windy, you are warm, dry and enjoying photographing wildlife in the rain with a hot drink in your hand.
